Hearth Place Receives An Ontario Trillium Foundation Grant! It is with great excitement and gratitude that Hearth Place is finally able to publicly announce our fantastic news: The Ontario Trillium Foundation (OTF) has approved a grant to Hearth Place in the amount of $213,000 over the next three years!
Over the past ten years, Hearth Place has been
providing services for individuals and families dealing with cancer with an
army of volunteers, only three part-time employees and without the benefit of
any public funding. With an astounding anticipated increase of 61% in
new cancer diagnoses over the next ten years, we are extremely grateful to the
OTF The Ontario Trillium Foundation, one of Canada's leading grant making foundations, is an agency of the Ministry of Culture. The OTF distributes $100 million of government funding each year which was generated through Ontario’s charity casino initiative. The Ontario Trillium Foundation distributes its funding to charities and not-for-profits through two granting programs: Community and Province-Wide. Within those programs, funding is allocated in four sectors: Arts and Culture, Environment, Sports and Recreation, and Human and Social Services. The Ontario Trillium Foundation is a catalyst that enables Ontarians to work together to enhance the quality of life in their communities. Communities and organizations, such as Hearth Place, are rich in talent, creativity and drive and the OTF grants stimulate communities to build on these assets. With this generous grant we can ensure our capacity to expand programming to best meet the needs of our more then 700 members, now and far into the future.
