ARTISTS IN THE GARDEN 2007

8th Annual Artists in the Garden

June 16th dawned as a beautiful summer day! The weather was perfect for Artists in the Garden. Hundreds of people enjoyed touring the 8 beautiful gardens in Clarington. The guests viewed the work of 26 local artists which was artfully displayed in each garden while listening to the melodic strains of musicians in many gardens. In excess of $10,000.00 was raised for Hearth Place!

Special thanks to our participating Gardeners who opened their gardens and were hospitable hosts to all the visitors during the day. Thank you for sharing your spectacular gardens with us, Carole & Rick Gould; Sharon and Brian Edy;  Debbi and Paul VanHerrewegen;  Bev, Jenni and Tim Jozkoski;  Debbie and Henrie Peeters;  Shirley and Jim Deatcher;  Nancy Miller, and the Hillis Family.

Many thanks to the Artists who added their unique talents to this year’s Artists in the Garden: Madelaine Alter; Rebecca Wilcox; Mary Solotorow;

We really appreciated the hard work of the “Kids’ Cuddle Quilt Club” who quilted and sewed bags for sale at the Gould Garden. The ambitious youth raised $600.00 for Hearth Place! Thank you Kids Cuddle Quilt Club with the very capable direction of Carole Gould.

Talented musicians donated their time to play, adding to the ambience of the gardens. Thanks to “Mood Swing” – swing music; Larry Chown – guitar; Nick Yaksich – Bluegrass and Ragtime; Dave and Chris – Soft Electrical music; and Fiddlers, Al and Company

The committee would like to thank Peter Tomblin and Betty Fitches for photographing the event this year!  A selection of the pictures are shown below:
