New Twist – Artists in the Garage
Gardens Capture the Imaginations at 10th Annual Event
On Saturday, June 20, visitors were treated to 15 spectacular gardens located in Clarington, Oshawa and Whitby to mark Artists in the Garden’s 10 Anniversary.
Despite the rain, approximately 350 visitors toured the gardens, while listening to music performed by local musicians. Visitors also took the opportunity to view and purchase many beautiful works of art and handcrafted pieces such as paintings, photography, jewellery, glass, iron work, and pottery from the more than 50 artists.
Although the final
tally is not available, it’s estimated that Artists in the Garden raised
more than $9,000 for Hearth Place Cancer Support Centre. On behalf of
the organizing committee and Hearth Place Board of Trustees, a special thank
you to everyone who braved the weather - especially our generous volunteers,
artists, musicians, and gardeners – we couldn’t do it without you!
Thank you to all the gardeners who provided shelter and opened up their
garages to house our artists and their work. Thank you to our generous
sponsors and ticket outlets (Romancing the Home, Dyne’s Gift House, Andrew’s
Shoes, Rundle Garden Centre and Lasting Expressions Floral Designs with
Flair) for their time and dedication.
